Studs and duds from Texas’ Alamo Bowl win over Colorado

Texas’ season ended on a high note with a win over Colorado in the Alamo Bowl. Here are the studs and duds from the bowl win:

Texas’ rather disappointing season ended with a positive on Tuesday night against Colorado. As he always seems to do, Tom Herman had his team prepared and ready to go for a bowl game. The Longhorns blew Colorado out of the water, especially in the second half.

For what could have been the final time, Sam Ehlinger was the starting quarterback at the University of Texas. Due to a shoulder injury suffered in the first half, the quarterback did not get to be sent off the way he deserved. Luckily, Casey Thompson stepped in and put on a show in just over a full quarter.

Defensively, it was another encouraging performance from Chris Ash’s group, especially with key starters Joseph Ossai, Ta’Quon Graham, and Caden Sterns all out. Young players such as Alfred Collins, Jerrin Thompson, and Jett Bush all got opportunities to make statements.

While it was not a statement win of any matters, Texas looked good in its finale against Colorado. However, Herman and company still have a couple of matters to work on before beginning the 2021 season.
