Stock up, down after Giants’ 41-35 victory over Redskins

Whose stock is up and whose is down following the New York Giants’ victory over the Washington Redskins in Week 16?

Stock up: Kaden Smith

Smith continues to shine in the absence of Evan Engram, who has been placed on injured reserve for the remainder of the season.

Smith caught six passes for 35 yards, but he had two touchdowns and they were both during critical times — the first one was in the end of the third quarter and the second one was the game-winning catch in overtime.

Not only has Smith been a reliable target in the Giants offense and passing game, but he has also been a solid blocker as well.

Regardless of what happens with Engram, Smith has earned the right to not only stay on the team, but to earn more starting time as well.

Stock down: Corey Ballentine

The Giants were so close to winning the game in regulation, but Ballentine got called for pass interference on a fourth down play.

Ballentine clearly shoved the Redskins receiver, which allowed Washington to get fresh set of downs and allowed them to score and tie the game to send it into overtime.

While the Giants did win the game, Ballentine nearly cost the Giants a chance to win the game, although had they lost, the Giants keep their chances for the second pick (and Chase Young) alive.
