Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers appears to have turned the corner this offseason.
The former five-star quarterback received praise from Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian on Thursday for his progress throughout winter conditioning and spring practices.
Numerous practice reports have noted that Ewers seems to be in much better physical shape this year and is taking on much more of a leadership role. The competition with five-star quarterback Arch Manning is surely helping push Ewers to his true potential, but it sounds like Ewers’ job to lose.
Sarkisian also specifically mentioned that Ewers has significantly improved on his decision making and is making reads much faster.
Steve Sarkisian on Quinn Ewers: "He definitely feels more comfortable, there's almost a sense he's throwing the ball very naturally, very comfortably. From a decision making standpoint, the reads are happening that much quicker, that much more decisive."

From a depth standpoint, Texas has to feel good with where they are at quarterback.
