Steve Kerr praises Andrew Wiggins big fourth quarter vs. Magic

Steve Kerr was impressed with Andrew Wiggins performance during the Golden State Warriors win over the Orlando Magic.

Andrew Wiggins played a huge role in the Golden State Warriors securing a win over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday.

The veteran forward scored 13 points and secured three rebounds while playing the entire quarter to help his team secure a much-needed win. The Warriors were short-handed following Draymond Green‘s ejection in the opening minutes of the game.

Head coach Steve Kerr praised Wiggins ‘ contributions when speaking to the media as part of his postgame press conference, noting his fourth-quarter production. Wiggins has been inconsistent this season, which made his dominant showing a little more enjoyable for both the fan base and the coaching staff.

“Wiggs was fantastic,” Kerr said. “Just stepped up and made one big play after another, on both ends. He had the big block near the end on Wagner. Made big shots. Got to the line. Attacked. Yeah, Wiggs was fantastic.”

When at his best, Wiggins is one of the best wing defenders in the NBA. He played a pivotal role in the Warriors’ run to the 2022 championship due to his ability to consistently guard the opposing team’s best player. Nevertheless, he’s also a talented offensive player, as he showed against Orlando.

If Wiggins can rediscover the level of play he showed during the 2022 playoffs, the Warriors will be a tough team to beat once the play-in tournament begins. Golden State will likely need to win two consecutive games to qualify for the playoffs. Wiggins could be a swing factor in those contests.
