Steph Curry wants to avoid the Warriors developing a losing mentality

Steph Curry is keen to ensure the Golden State Warriors don’t develop a losing mentality.

The Golden State Warriors suffered their sixth straight defeat on Saturday (Nov. 18). It was also the team’s second straight loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The team has a 6-8 record after going 6-2 in their opening eight games. Steph Curry believes the team needs to figure things out before they get much worse.

When speaking to the media following his team’s latest loss, Curry shared his belief the Warriors need to avoid developing a losing mentality. He also noted how losing so many games in a row is a problem the franchise needs to rectify quickly.

“During this losing streak, we’ve got a little rattled,” Curry said, “So, we gotta figure that piece out. Missing Draymond is tough. I was out for two games. Seems like a perfect storm of everything. So, we have to maintain confidence in ourselves and our ability to figure things out. But, it’s gonna take everybody. … A losing streak like this, there’s urgency, for sure. Anytime you’re at this many in a row, it’s a problem that you’ve got to fix. And, you don’t want to develop a losing mentality at all. … That’s a stink in the locker room that you don’t wanna have in there.”

Golden State’s struggles have become a serious talking point among the media and the fan base. From an overreliance on Curry to its inability to grind out wins in tough games, there is a genuine cause for concern developing.

One win will not be enough to change the concern level either. Steve Kerr’s team need a run of wins before everybody begins to see the current losing streak for what it is: a bad stretch of games.

The Warriors will have another chance to halt their slide when they face the Houston Rockets on Monday, Nov. 20.
