In a recent interview with Gilbert Arenas on his podcast “Gil’s Arena,” Steph Curry was asked if he’s the best point guard ever. The Golden State Warriors sharpshooter gave a simple answer: “yes.”

It would have to be yes. It’s me and Magic — that’s the conversation?

Arenas and Curry went on to laugh when discussing his answer. Arenas went on to talk about Curry’s influence at the point guard position. Curry expanded on his answer and the conversation around debating who is the best point guard of all-time.

Obviously, I have to answer it that way. I really feel like — to your point, Magic’s resume is ridiculous. The fact that we’re even having that conversation is a place I never thought I would be in. To your point, how you grade it and the whole conversation — That’s why we have the conversations — because it’s fun measuring eras against each other. I love it. That’s what basketball and sports is all about. That’s why people watch. That’s why people get in heated debates about it. I love it. Put me on my own team, I’m going to rep myself for sure.

While his story isn’t finished, Curry has a decorated resume that features four championships, two MVP awards, an NBA Finals MVP, nine All-Star and nine All-NBA teams appearances. Curry is also the NBA’s all-time leader in made 3-pointers.

When discussing the best point guard in NBA history, Curry’s name is often mentioned along with Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Oscar Robertson and others. Curry will suit up alongside another all-time great guard and new teammate Chris Paul in the upcoming NBA season.
