Start time announced for UNC-UVA football

The UNC football program will play its second nighttime game is as many weeks, facing UVA at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 21 in Chapel Hill.

The UNC football squad is among the ACC’s most productive 2023 teams with a 5-0 record.

The UVA football squad is amongst the ACC’s worst, sporting a 1-5 overall record and no conference wins.

12th-ranked UNC needs to take care of business against Miami (FL) this upcoming weekend at home, but “The South’s Oldest Rivalry” awaits the following weekend.

On Monday, Oct. 9, UNC announced the start time of its anticipated ACC clash in two weekends – 6:30 p.m. ET. This will be the Heels’ second-consecutive evening game, as they play Miami (FL) this coming weekend in the 7:30 p.m. ET primetime spot.

We’ll have to wait and see how the Tar Heels do against Miami, but we already know a couple things.  UNC has one of the country’s most dangerous offenses, whether the yards and points are coming from Drake Maye or Omarion Hampton, while seemingly a new wide receiver or tight end leads the pass-catching department each week. Carolina’s defense, led by the likes of Cedric Gray and Kaimon Rucker, is enjoying a much-needed revival.

UVA is struggling out of the gates at 1-4, with the Cavaliers just nabbing their first win of the season against William and Mary on Saturday, yet there’s a heavy cloud over the program with three players dying in a 2022 shooting. Former UVA quarterback Brennan Armstrong transferred to N.C. State, so Tony Muskett and Anthony Colandra are splitting reps. Perris Jones and Kobe Pace each have 200 yards out of the backfield, while the Cavs have a stellar receiving core, but the defense just isn’t quite there.
