The Cards were a decent betting play heading into the back half of August, and they have paid off. St. Louis is 12-3 since Aug. 16. That value may now be leveling off.
However, the Cardinals are the closest thing to value on this particular Money Line play. Hudson may a bit too far out over his skis with his surface ERA, but he is backed by a solid enough bullpen and one that is well enough rested at the back end.
Consider a line watch: St. Louis (-205) would be a decent play. Otherwise, PASS.
