Spurs vs. Celtics highs, lows, works in progress: the Jan. 28 game

We’ve got lots to say about this game — and most of it isn’t in the “highs” section.

While the urge to brush this stinker of a contest under the rug and pretend it never happened is both very real and very tempting, the Boston Celtics need to face the music and get their ship in order if they want to make a deep postseason run this campaign, so some reflection is in order.

The Celtics simply didn’t lock in for more than a few minutes at a time across the entirety of their 110 – 106 road loss to the San Antonio Spurs Wednesday. And while the reintegration of all three of Boston’s top scorers in Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker surely played a role, it was an all-too-familiar scene to see the lack of focus and effort derail yet another winnable tilt.

So as we usually do when a closer look is warranted, let’s take a look at the highs, lows and works in progress of Wednesday’s loss to San Antonio.
