No. 3 Texas trapped Baylor in their final conference matchup, 38-6. Every aspect of the game was flawless for the Longhorns aside from special teams mistakes.
Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers threw for 293 yards and two touchdowns, with one of those being a 29-yard scramble. It seems that Ewers is finally mastering the deep ball we’ve all been waiting for, hitting freshman wide receiver Johntay Cook for 51 yards in the third quarter. Ewers’ pocket presence has been phenomenal, and despite being shaky with oncoming pressure, he stood in the pocket and delivered when he needed to.
The Longhorns defense played outstanding football and its interior defensive line could be the best in the country, only granting Baylor 60 rushing yards versus a talented backfield.
