The Georgia Bulldogs are not a very good basketball team, but that shouldn’t take anything away from Arkansas’ emphatic 97-65 win on Tuesday night.
[autotag]Nick Smith Jr.[/autotag] had, hands down, the best performance of his Razorback career to date and his first breakout performance since returning from injury for a second time this season. His performance coupled with the team looking more and more comfortable, as a whole, with him in the rotation could spell a magical March run yet again.
Arkansas is starting to look more like the team that fans had envisioned entering the season and less like a team that had serious identity issues and started 1-5 in SEC play. Not only are the Hogs playing better and gaining confidence at full strength, but most importantly they’re one win away from basically guaranteeing themselves a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
The win over a very bad Georgia team doesn’t hold much weight on paper, but watching this team gel with Smith back in the fold at full strength does. It was an important night that fans could look back at a month from now as a turning point in Arkansas’ season.
As reactions from all over social media show, it was a very fun night in Bud Walton Arena that could foreshadow much more for this team.
