Sixers telling Jaden Springer to focus on doing the little things

The Philadelphia 76ers are telling Jaden Springer to focus on doing the little things to help them win games.

PHILADELPHIA — In his third season in the NBA, Philadelphia 76ers guard Jaden Springer continues to learn the ins and outs of the league. He is continuing to earn his spot in the rotation and to understand what it takes to succeed at the NBA level.

In 11 games, Springer has done a terrific job of giving the Sixers a spark on the defensive end. His instincts on that end of the floor have proven very helpful. On offense, he has shown an innate ability to cut without the basketball, which helps to space the floor and help Joel Embiid to operate in the low post.

“We all know we have a team full of scorers,” Springer said. “Guys can score the ball and stuff, so I gotta find other ways to get in. I feel like defense is gonna be the way for me. Bringing energy, crashing the boards, cutting, doing all the little things. That can help me the most.”

Coach Nick Nurse and his staff have told Springer exactly what they are looking for from him in order to get him more minutes. They need him to contribute by doing the little things that help the Sixers succeed on both ends of the floor.

“They wanna see me do all of the little things,” Springer added. “We already got guys on the team that can score the ball and stuff like that so it’s on me to bring the energy, defend, cut, offensive rebound, just do all the little things.”
