Sixers remain interested in Kyle Lowry, rookie Tyrese Maxey available

The Philadelphia 76ers still have interest in Kyle Lowry while Tyrese Maxey has been made available.

The Philadelphia 76ers are looking to make a move in order to strengthen their chances at making the deep playoff run that they believe they can make as the season continues on. The trade deadline is approaching quickly as Thursday is just around the corner.

Team president Daryl Morey is a guy who is not afraid to pull the trigger on any big moves and if there is a move to be made that he feels will make the Sixers a better team, then one can believe he will pull the trigger.

The Sixers have an interest in acquiring point guard Kyle Lowry from the Toronto Raptors and it appears that rookie Tyrese Maxey is available to be dealt. The Raptors have lost nine games in a row and it seems like now is the time for them to pull the trigger on a trade to shake things up.

According to HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto, Maxey would be available in a Lowry deal and the Sixers are also receiving interest in defensive stud Matisse Thybulle. Scotto:

The 76ers remain interested in acquiring Raptors guard Kyle Lowry, and rookie guard Tyrese Maxey is among the assets available as part of a trade package, league sources told HoopsHype. Maxey has shown flashes of potential, including a 39-point game in January against the Nuggets.

Philadelphia has also received calls on standout defender Matisse Thybulle from several teams around the league, sources told HoopsHype. Some general managers across the league believe the inclusion of Thybulle in a trade offer could swing the bidding for Lowry’s services, but the 76ers are reluctant to part with him.

The Miami Heat are also a team that has an interest in acquiring Lowry and they will certainly have a say with Toronto in a deal for him. The Sixers offer a sentimental home for Lowry due to him being from Philadelphia, but it remains to be seen if the Sixers will have enough assets to offer Toronto to make a deal.
