The shorthanded and scrappy Philadelphia 76ers certainly made things interesting on Monday against the New York Knicks. Despite being down by as many as 19 and missing the likes of Joel Embiid, Tobias Harris, and Matisse Thybulle due to the health and safety protocols, they were still able to make it a game.
Alas, it was not enough as Julius Randle and the Knicks proved to be a bit too much for them to handle. Randle led New York with 31 points and 12 rebounds and they were able to hold off the Sixers 103-96 at home. Philadelphia battled hard in this one, but it was a predictable loss considering who they were missing. Randle seemed to answer every Philadelphia run with a big bucket of his own. He was impressive for the Knicks in this one.
The Sixers were led by Furkan Korkmaz with 19 points, Seth Curry added 14 points and six assists, Andre Drummond had 14 and 25 rebounds, Tyrese Maxey had 16 points, nine rebounds, and five assists, Georges Niang hopped off the bench and 15, and Danny Green returned from injury to post eight points. After a slow start, Shake Milton added 10 points as well.
