The Philadelphia 76ers returned home on Tuesday looking to build some momentum at home and start off a 5-game homestand the right way. The New Orleans Pelicans offered up that chance as they have been a struggling team and they were missing four of their five starters as well as star Zion Williamson.
The Sixers did not start well as they looked flat from the jump and they had a tough time defending the perimeter. Pelicans guard Nickeil Alexander-Walker and big man Willy Hernangomes gave Philadelphia a lot of issues and the Sixers trailed by double digits early and they trailed by eight at the half as the boo birds came out at Wells Fargo Center.
The Sixers were then able to dig deep in the second half in order to rally for a 117-107 victory. Joel Embiid led the way with 42 points and 14 rebounds with four blocks while Tobias Harris added 33 points and 11 rebounds in support. Furkan Korkmaz also added 13 points with Tyrese Maxey adding 10 points and five assists.
