When the Philadelphia 76ers and the Charlotte Hornets met for two games in Buzz City in December, the Hornets had to use a lot of replacement players as they had a majority of their roster in the health and safety protocols. The Sixers were able to squeak by Charlotte in both of those games, but the memory of those close games remained.
With the Hornets having a full roster for the third matchup in Philadelphia on Wednesday, Charlotte showed off their skill, speed, and athleticism on their way to a 109-98 win over the Sixers and halt their 7-game win streak. It is their first win over the Sixers since Nov. 2, 2016, halting a 16-game losing streak to Philadelphia.
Joel Embiid had another big game with 31 points and six rebounds, Tyrese Maxey had 10 in his return, and Seth Curry added 10. Furkan Korkmaz added 14 off the bench and Tobias Harris had 17, eight rebounds, and five assists.
