Simone Biles kind of confirmed she’s going to the 2024 Olympics in Paris

Simone Biles is back in for the Olympics, folks. Maybe.

Ever since Simone Biles absolutely dominated the U.S. Gymnastics Championships in August, questions have been swirling about whether she was gearing up for the 2024 Olympic Games.

Remember, Biles’ stint in the 2020 Olympic games was cut short prematurely behind a case of the “twisties” — a dangerous situation where gymnasts lose their sense of awareness in the air. She withdrew from the competition ahead of the finals because of it.

Obviously, that’s not the way she wanted to go out. She said as much in a docuseries after the Tokyo games. It was disappointing not to see her in the final competition.

Since then, she’s been fairly coy on what the future holds as far as competition goes. Until Thursday.

In an appearance on the TODAY Show, host Hoda Kotb tried her best to get an answer out of her. She asked “If I had $5 in my hand and I was going to Vegas and I’m going to bet on whether Simone will go to the Olympics or not, where would I put my five bucks? The yea or the nay?”

Biles didn’t fully commit to Paris, but she made it clear that going to the 2024 Olympics is her goal at this point.

Right now I would say that’s the path that I would love to go. So I wouldn’t mind if you put it on the yea section.”

We’ve got action, folks! Biles is back in for the 2024 Olympics. Well, maybe? This isn’t necessarily a full commitment, but it’s clear she at least wants to be there. And that’s enough for now.

The GOAT is back. It’s going to be so exciting to watch her in Paris. I can’t wait.
