Should the Steelers go all in for Jamal Adams?

Fans will want the Steelers to trade for Jamal Adams but is it realistic?

Whenever a top NFL player is reportedly on the trading block, it is inevitable that I am asked by Pittsburgh Steelers fans if they are an option for the Steelers. The latest player to spark the interest of Steeler Nation is New York Jets safety Jamal Adams.

Pittsburgh struck gold last season when they made a trade in-season for safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. It cost the Steelers a first-round pick but ended up being well worth it. Would the Steelers try to pull the trigger on a second huge deal for another All-Pro safety?

There are a couple of factors working against the Steelers in this. First, according to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, the Steelers aren’t one of the seven teams identified as ideal spots for Adams, per him.

Here are the seven teams, one of which are division foes the Baltimore Ravens.

The circumstance is the other thing working against the Steelers. When the Steelers made the deal for Fitzpatrick, they did it knowing Sean Davis wasn’t coming back. This season, Terrell Edmunds — a former first-round pick — is the starter next to Fitzpatrick. Trading for Adams is essentially a vote of no confidence for Edmunds and admitting the team missed on his choice.

Let us know if you think it would be worth it for the Steelers to make an offer for Adams or look elsewhere for help this upcoming season.
