Saturday night’s contest against Auburn featured a scary moment on the very first play.
LSU cornerback [autotag]Sevyn Banks[/autotag] took a hard hit to the head when he made a tackle on the opening kickoff, and he was carted off the field on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.
Shortly after, the ESPN broadcast reported that Banks was conscious with movement in his extremities, and at halftime, the Tigers released even more encouraging news.
Banks was alert and mobile following a series of tests, and he was released from the hospital and cleared to return to the stadium. He is expected to travel back to Baton Rouge with the team after the game.

It’s always worrying when you’re dealing with an injury to the head or neck, and it was quite a relief to see that he seems to be ok. Though we still don’t know the exact severity of his injury, fans of both teams were grateful to see that he appears to have avoided a major one.
They took to Twitter to share their well-wishes.
