SEC Twitter reacts as South Carolina fires Will Muschamp

The South Carolina Gamecocks have fired head coach Will Muschamp. Former UGA offensive coordinator Mike Bobo is USC’s interim coach.

The South Carolina Gamecocks fired head coach Will Muschamp following Saturday’s embarrassing 59-42 loss to Ole Miss. The Gamecocks are 2-5 and are second to last in the SEC East.

South Carolina has three games left on its schedule, including a home game against the Georgia Bulldogs. Interestingly, South Carolina’s interim head coach will be former University of Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo.

Muschamp became head coach of South Carolina in 2015. His best season for the Gamecocks came in 2017, when he helped South Carolina go 9-4. Overall, he finished his career with a 28-30 record during his five seasons with South Carolina.

Muschamp was previously the head coach at Florida, where he went 28-21 over four seasons with the Gators. College football fans shouldn’t be surprised if Mushcamp ends up as a defensive coordinator for prominent SEC program for his next gig.

Here’s how SEC football Twitter reacted to the news of Muchamp’s firing:
