Sean McVay believes CB Robert Rochell is ‘going to be OK’ after suffering knee injury

Sean McVay says the initial tests on Robert Rochell’s injured knee “checked out well.”

The Rams were almost dealt another big blow to their secondary on Sunday but it sounds like Robert Rochell, who left with a knee injury, is going to be OK. Sean McVay told reporters after the 28-19 win over the Lions that he believes Rochell avoided a serious injury, with Rochell telling the coach that the initial tests on his knee checked out OK.

McVay will have more information on Monday after meeting with Reggie Scott and the training staff, but hopefully this is just a minor injury for the rookie cornerback.

“I think he’s going to be OK,” McVay said. “I haven’t talked to Reggie and his group, but I did talk to Robert. He said the initial tests checked out well, but I’ll be able to give you further clarity tomorrow.”

Rochell has been elevated to a starting role with Darious Williams on injured reserve, so he’s become an important player on defense. Dont’e Deayon has also stepped up, and David Long Jr. remains an option at cornerback, but Rochell continues to improve with more reps.
