The Seattle Seahawks dropped their first contest of the season Sunday night when they fell to the Arizona Cardinals in overtime. And in doing so, Seattle also tumbled in the latest NFL power rankings.
Sitting at the top just two weeks ago, Seattle has now fallen to No. 4 in Touchdown Wire’s post-Week 7 edition.
“Even with the three interceptions, the Seahawks offense was still fairly impressive,” writes Mark Schofield. “Wilson completed 33 of 50 passes for 388 yards and three touchdowns, and had he not thrown either of the two red-zone interceptions, this might have ended up as a win for Seattle. But the bigger problem might be what we are seeing on the defensive side of the football from the Seahawks.”

“They have been banged up on that side of the ball, but Seattle’s defensive unit has struggled almost all season. They have allowed 25 points or more in every single game this year, and right now their scoring average of 28.7 points per game allowed ranks them as the tenth-worst defense in the NFL in that category.”
The Seahawks have another shot at an NFC West contender this Sunday when they host the 49ers at CenturyLink Field.
