What’s Going To Happen
The Spartans still have a shot at getting bowl eligible if it can win against UNLV and Fresno State to close things out, but as is, it’s been a strong, fun year.
The defense has fallen away over the last few weeks, but the passing game has taken off for a far, far more competitive program than it’s been over the last several seasons.
UNLV can’t salvage anything with a win, but it would be nice.
The Rebel offense has struggled all year, and the secondary is about to get hit hard by Josh Love and a passing attack that’s hit 375 yards or more in four of the last six games, and now it’s going to get a shot to bomb away again.
UNLV doesn’t have any sort of a pass rush, but it’ll run well enough to control the clock for long stretches. In the home finale, the Rebels will run for over 200 yards, the Spartans will throw for over 300 yards, and the team with the far better offense will win.
