What’s Going To Happen
If Boise State wins, it takes the Mountain West’s West title. If Utah State wins, then things get interesting with a three-way tie – potentially throw Air Force in the mix – going into the final week of the season.
Utah State has won two straight go get back into the hunt after getting rolled by Air Force a few weeks ago. Its offense is still inconsistent, and the defense isn’t doing quite what it’s supposed to, but the passing attack is on a run of three straight 300-yard games.
Boise State has won three in a row with a stifling defense that’s been good enough against the better passing games.
The offense will keep the chains moving on third downs, Utah State won’t ever have the ball – it’s last in the nation in time of possession – and the Broncos will be off to another Mountain West title game while staying in the mix for the Group of Five’s New Year’s Six bowl slot.
