San Antonio Spurs rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama is turning heads this season for good reason, and not just on the basketball court. The Frenchman just saw his NBA 2K24 rating raised to 89 at the midseason ratings assessment for the popular NBA basketball simulation video game.

“On February 12, (Wembanyama) recorded a triple-double with 27 points, 14 rebounds, and an astonishing 10 blocks, becoming the first rookie since 1990 to achieve this marvelous feat,” notes NBA 2k. “The rookie center-forward has not only lived up to the lofty expectations set by pundits this season—he’s exceeding them at a historic pace.”

“During the last two weeks, Wembanyama has averaged 19.6 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 3.6 blocks per game.”

“On the season, the 20-year-old French star is averaging 3.2 blocks per game, which leads the league this year,” adds NBA 2K. “Wembanyama isn’t even 50 games into his NBA career yet, and he’s already rewriting the record books.”

We kind of get the feeling they might need to recalibrate the ratings system by the time Wemby hits his prime, but that’s just us.
