Samuel Dixon, a three-star running back from Ohio, has Rutgers football in his stacked top five: ‘Rutgers is just a great place overall’

Three-star running back Samuel Dixon announces a top five that includes Rutgers football.

Ohio running back Samuel Dixon included Rutgers football in his top five, this as the three-star recruit released a loaded cutdown on Friday afternoon.

Rutgers joins Kentucky, Ohio State, Penn State and Tennessee in the top five for Dixon. The class of 2024 recruit also announced on Friday that he will be playing at Pickerington North for his senior season.

Last season, Dixon played last season for West Holmes (Millersburg, OH).

According to Rivals, he is a three-star recruit and the No. 19 player in Ohio. The 6-foot, 194-pound athlete is is the No. 38 running back in the nation.

That high school might sound somewhat familiar to Rutgers football fans for the reason that Kwabena Asamoah played for rival Pickerington Central. Asamoah was a three-star recruit who earned starting reps for Rutgers as a true freshman in 2023.

It is a thick battle for Rutgers head coach [autotag]Greg Schiano[/autotag] to land Dixon given the quality of the competition for the talented player.

“Rutgers is just a great place overall and just having coach Schoano back makes it even more special,” Dixon told Rutgers Wire on Friday night.

“The staff he put together is like no other – he tells me that he really believes that he has the best staff in the country and that would be a great opportunity to be with them because all of them want to win and they all care very deeply about there players they want.”
