Rutgers men’s lacrosse lands first 2024 commit

Rutgers men’s lacrosse has landed it’s first commitment for the class of 2024, Nate Austin-Johnson

Rutgers men’s lacrosse has landed it’s first commitment for the class of 2024. Attackman Nate Austin-Johnson from Thayer Academy near Boston has officially declared his commitment to play for the Scarlet Knights.

Austin-Johnson will be joining a squad that has been riding high over the last few years. Rutgers finished last season with the first Final Four appearance in program history and finished ranked No. 5 in the Men’s Lacrosse RPI with a 15-4 record – including an undefeated record at home. The high school senior has some impressive tape and adds to the strong recruiting classes to have joined the Scarlet Knights in recent memory.

Nate was celebrated on twitter by Laxachusetts Lacrosse – a group that offers Elite Boys and Elite Girls club teams that he played with and learned from.

Rutgers has an entire incoming class prior to Austin-Johnson joining the program. The Scarlet Knights have eight incoming commits for the class of 2023. They have 11 incoming freshmen for the 2022-2023 season and have worked the transfer portal hard – bringing in another nine new players via transfer.
