Rutgers football: Korey Duff details his growing relationship with Dave Brock

Rutgers football recruit Korey Duff breaks down his relationship with Dave Brock.

One of the top recruits in the region, Korey Duff, is beginning to form a relationship with Dave Brock. The Rutgers football wide receivers coach is new to the staff but brings plenty of experience from a previous stop at Rutgers as well as his time in the NFL.

Brock comes to Rutgers football having most recently been in the NFL with the Atlanta Falcons, where he was the wide receivers coach. He has spent the last five years in the NFL on staff with the Falcons.

Prior to that, he was head coach at Delaware. In 2012, he was the offensive coordinator at Rutgers.

A three-star recruit from St. Anthony’s (Melville, N.Y.), Duff is a class of 2024 recruit and a priority target for the Scarlet Knights. He has begun to develop a relationship with Brock, who was hired in January.

“It’s been great getting to know him. I love the way he speaks about the game and how he could use me,” Duff told Rutgers Wire this week.

“Also, very down to earth and I love that about a coach.”

The hiring of Brock was greeted by former Rutgers players who played for him when he was with the program in 2012. Michael Burton, who won a Super Bowl with the Kansas City Chiefs this past NFL season, talked glowingly about Brock.

And former Rutgers wide receiver Mohamed Sanu said that Brock’s NFL experience will be huge for the young wide receivers in the program.

Duff recently told Rutgers Wire that he will be taking an official visit to Rutgers in the summer. As for his other four visits, Duff said that Georgia Tech, Pittsburgh and Syracuse are all in the mix for official visits.

A three-star recruit according to Rivals, Duff is ranked the fourth-best player in New York in this class. Long Island has become a point of emphasis for Rutgers over the past two years as the area is exploding with prep football talent.

Playing at Rutgers, Duff said, is appealing to him. The Scarlet Knights were his first Power Five offer last year.

“Yes, the opportunity to stay close to home is something that excites me a lot,” Duff said.
