Roll Tide Wire staff score predictions for Alabama vs. LSU

The entire staff at Roll Tide Wire give their score predictions for the upcoming Alabama game against the LSU Tigers.

It is officially Week 14 of the college football season. Alabama (8-0) is coming off a big 42-13 victory over the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl, but next up on the list is LSU (3-4).

That is a game that a lot of Tide fan have had circled on the calendar since the 46-41 loss in 2019. It has already been rescheduled once this season after it was supposed to be played on Nov. 14, but we are officially on for this Saturday.

Below are the score predictions and breakdowns from the entire Roll Tide Wire staff. Enjoy!

For starters, I don’t think a “nighttime in Death Valley” will help LSU in the slightest. The reigning national champions will have a near-impossible time trying to move the ball on offense against this refined Pete Golding, Alabama defense.

It may seem like a lot to score 59 points, but considering the Crimson Tide offense could hang upwards of 80 on this ugly LSU defense, this is a prediction based on Saban taking his football off the gas in the third quarter.

The disrespect dealt by Coach O and the Tigers after last year’s loss has not been forgotten, and I expect Alabama to come out swinging and firing on all cylinders.

Final score: Alabama 59, LSU 13

Anytime you see LSU and Alabama on the schedule you are expecting a hard-hitting defensive battle that determines the SEC West.

Not this year.

Last year’s game meant something as LSU was on its historic run to the national championship and survived the Crimson Tide. This year, LSU has lost many of the players who led them on that terrific run and have struggled with a 3-4 record.

Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide continue to roll along.

LSU’s offense will not threaten Alabama’s stout defense, meaning this one could get ugly early.

Final score: Alabama 38, LSU 10

The potential motivational factors at play make this a tough game to predict. Several of the LSU players — and coaches, for that matter — took last year’s victory a bit too far, or that’s how the Alabama fan base views it.

If players feel similar, this game will be a chance to take out frustration on a vulnerable Tigers squad. This should be a big victory for the Crimson Tide regardless, but extra motivation could turn this into a rough ride in Baton Rouge for LSU.

T.J. Finley is going to be a good quarterback, but so far, he’s been a guy who needs things to go right around him in order to be effective.

With the improvements made on Alabama’s defense and the emergence of guys like true freshman defensive lineman Tim Smith, a scenario where things go right might not seem feasible. That defense has been opportunistic in turning turnovers into touchdowns in recent weeks, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see that continue.

Final score: Alabama 48, LSU 16
