Right-handed pitcher Jordyn Bahl out for season with ACL injury

The Huskers will continue their 2024 season with one less player in their main lineup.

The Huskers will continue their 2024 softball season without their star player. Jordyn Bahl announced that she will be redshirted for the remainder of the season after suffering an ACL injury.

Bahl’s injury occurred in her Husker debut against Washington in the third inning. With her redshirt, Bahl still holds two years of eligibility. The junior transferred to Nebraska after spending two seasons at Oklahoma, where she guided the Sooners to back-to-back Women’s College World Series Championships.

The junior started 46 games in the circle and made 66 appearances for the Sooners. She was named 2023 Most Outstanding Player for the Women’s College World Series and 2023 Big 12 Pitcher of the Year.

Bahl hails from Papillion, Nebraska, where she ruled the state in high school softball at Papillion-La Vista. Bahl led the Monarchs to three straight Class A state titles. She also was named Gatorade Nebraska Player of the Year twice and Gatorade National Softball Player of the Year.
