Report: Washington DE Chase Young injury not serious

According to Ian Rapoport, insiders tell him that former Ohio State and current Washington DE Chase Young’s injury is not serious.

In case you missed it, former Ohio State and current Washington defensive end Chase Young left Sunday’s game against the Browns with a groin injury. He returned to the sidelines after heading to the locker room to be checked out, but never returned to the game. Instead, he was seen hanging out with a heavily wrapped thigh.

Young tweeted out a message that seemed to allude to the injury not being very significant, but we never know until all the tests are completed and we get official word.

However, before that, according to Ian Rapoport, sources he spoke to close to the situation also indicate that the injury to Young is not as serious as many would have thought with him immediately being ruled out.

“Washington appears to have dodged a bullet, as pass-rusher Chase Young’s groin injury is not believed to be serious,” Rapoport stated. “He’ll have tests to be sure, as the Ravens loom next week.”

Rapoport shared video to his Twitter account of the update himself. Click on the below and give it a listen for even greater context.

Young has done nothing but meet those high expectations that were placed on his broad shoulders, and there’s no doubt Washington would love to get his disruptive presence back in the lineup for the next game against Baltimore in two weeks.

It sounds like that is a greater possibility than what anyone thought yesterday after the injury. We’ll pass the word on when we get something official.
