We know that the Washington Redskins plan to be major players when it comes to acquiring a new cornerback or two, in this year’s free agency market, but the question is who they choose to go after.
Up until now, the common thought was that Carolina Panthers CB James Bradberry would make the leap to Washington once March 18th rolled around, following his old coach Ron Rivera to the Redskins. However, that idea has soured a bit over the last week, with reports surfacing that Bradberry is hoping to receive up to $15 million per season, resetting the CB market, even though he wasn’t a top CB in 2019.
It’s unlikely that the Redskins pay that type of money, even if the player has close ties to their head coach.

This would lead to the idea that the Redskins could instead look to sign two valuable corners, both of whom would act as less of a cap hit. The first two names that come to mind should be familiar to Washington fans.
Kendall Fuller and Bashaud Breeland; both are fresh off a Super Bowl win with the Kansas City Chiefs, and both left Washington on less-than-perfect terms in years past — Fuller was dealt as part of the trade for Alex Smith, and Breeland was allowed to walk as a free agent, despite having a solid fanbase with the Redskins.
There are obviously several more CBs that the Redskins could take a look at, but if their goal is to find two solid pieces instead of one, getting the old band back together might be a good place to start.
