Report: Odell Beckham Jr. expected to play, have bigger role in Rams offense

Odell Beckham Jr. is dealing with a hip injury but he’s expected to play and be a bigger part of the offense on Sunday.

Odell Beckham Jr. is gaining comfort in the Rams offense as he continues to practice with his new team and learn the playbook, but a hip injury has held him back a bit in the last week. He was in visible pain against the Packers last week and didn’t practice in full once leading up to Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, but all signs point to him still suiting up.

After saying Friday that he plans to play, something Sean McVay also said himself, Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Beckham is expected to be on the field and a bigger part of the offense, too.

The Rams will have Ben Skowronek available this time as their fourth receiver, unlike last week against the Packers, so at least they have a little bit more depth. But this offense is still heavily reliant on its top three receivers of Beckham, Cooper Kupp and Van Jefferson.

Beckham caught a 54-yard touchdown pass from Matthew Stafford in Green Bay and totaled 81 yards on five catches after hauling in just two passes for 18 yards in his Rams debut in Week 10. The Rams need him to be an impactful receiver, even if he can’t fully replace what Robert Woods did for this offense.
