Report: Nets-Lakers trade involving Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis is unlikely

The Lakers have been listed as a potential destination for Kyrie Irving, but a trade involving Anthony Davis is unlikely.

Following the reports that the Brooklyn Nets’ contract talks with superstar Kyrie Irving had stalled, the Lakers emerged as a possible landing spot, but an NBA insider finds it unlikely.

NBA correspondent Brian Windhorst addressed the Kyrie Irving fiasco on his newest podcast episode of Brian Windhorst & The Hoop Collective. Windhorst analyzed the logistics of where Irving could land outside of the Nets and he believes that the guard will stay with the team.

Windhorst hints that the only realistic trade option for the Lakers is a swap for injury-prone big man Anthony Davis. Noting that he does “not see” the trade coming to fruition.

He actually believes that Irving will return to the Nets on a short-term deal since the Nets reportedly do not want to commit to a long-term contract.
