Report: Michigan State basketball recruiting target Enoch Boakye to announce college decision June 28

Michigan State is the favorite to land the top-20 prospect.

Tom Izzo could very well be a week away from landing another top 20 prospect.

According to recruiting edit extraordinaire Tipton Edits, Canadian center Enoch Boakye will be announcing his college decision on July 28.

The six-foot-ten Boakye is ranked as a very high four-star recruit and the No. 20 player in the class of 2022 by 247Sports. Boakye is the No. 3 center in the class and top player in Ontario. He isn’t rated on ESPN nor Rivals, most likely because he is a Canadian prospect and it is still early on the class of 2022.

Currently four of four predictors on Rivals and 247Sports have Michigan State landing the big man out of George Harris Prep in Mississauga. Boakye has offers from Arizona, BYU, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, and UCLA among a number of others. Duke and Kentucky are also recruiting him, but are yet to offer.

MSU’s 2022 class is currently the best in the country with No. 1 overall prospect Emoni Bates as its lone commit. Boakye’s addition would further cement MSU’s No. 1 status and if Bates does reclassify into 2021, Boakye would make for a great building block of the 2022 class, although he too is considering reclassifying in 2021.
