Stafford sought treatment during the game for the thumb injury, which happened on a play where the Football Team was flagged for unnecessary roughness. He did not miss a snap but had the thumb and hand taped after the initial incident. On Monday, Stafford downplayed the severity of the injury and indicated he expects to play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.
He has played through injuries before, including one to his throwing hand back in 2016. Stafford did not show any obvious signs of altered throwing after the injury on Sunday. In fact, he had one of his best games of the season.
