Report: Jets want more than a second-round pick for Quinnen Williams

With the 2020 NFL Trade Deadline looming, it’s going to take more than a second-round pick for the Jets to move Quinnen Williams.

More than a few teams have inquired about Quinnen Williams’s availability, but it will take more than a second-round pick for the Jets to part with him before the trade deadline, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The Jets have yet to receive any serious offers for Williams, per a prior report from The Athletic’s Connor Hughes. That doesn’t mean teams haven’t shown interest in the former No. 3 overall pick, but the Jets will want a haul to move him in-season. While Hughes reported that the Jets would “probably” take a second-round pick for Williams, it doesn’t seem like New York is inclined to move the second-year defensive end unless it’s getting back a substantial package of picks.

With the trade deadline looming, the Jets seem increasingly unlikely to trade their former first-round pick. However, Joe Douglas has always been willing to listen to offers and move players for the right price. With Steve McLendon and Jordan Willis already shipped out, it’s possible Williams is next.
