Report: Giants’ Kadarius Toney expected to play vs. Panthers

New York Giants WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring) is expected to play against the Carolina Panthers in Week 2.

New York Giants wide receiver Kadarius Toney was added to the injury report with a hamstring issue this week and subsequently listed as questionable for their Week 2 game.

“He was added back to the injury report,” head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Thursday. “He practiced, participated in some team periods. But his hamstring tightened up, so that’s why he’s back on the injury report.”

However, Toney seemed to kick things up a notch in practice on Friday and is expected to play against the Carolina Panthers, reports NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Toney’s injury issues have really defined the early part of his career. Of the 19 games the team has played since he was drafted, Toney has missed 14 of them. In the other five games, he left two of those with injury.

In Week 1 against the Tennessee Titans, Toney played just seven snaps and drew zero targets.
