Report: Giants interview Jim Schwartz for DC vacancy

The Giants virtually interviewed Jim Schwartz for their defensive coordinator vacancy on Saturday.

The New York Giants continued their search for a new defensive coordinator this weekend as the team reportedly interviewed Tennessee Titans senior defensive assistant Jim Schwartz, per Mike Garafolo of NFL Network.

Schwartz, who has three stints as a defensive coordinator in his coaching career, was in that role with the Philadelphia Eagles during their Super Bowl run to cap off the 2017 season.

Schwartz has been in the league for a long time. He got his start in 1993 as a scout with the Cleveland Browns. He has been a defensive coordinator three separate times with the Tennessee Titans (2001-2008), Buffalo Bills (2014) and Philadelphia Eagles (2016-2020).

Schwartz has also been a head coach with the Detroit Lions (2009-2013). He took the senior defensive assistant job with the Titans in 2021.

With new head coach Brian Daboll and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka both being first-timers in their respective roles, it’s clear the Giants want to get some experience on the coaching staff.
