Report: Giants ‘in the mix’ to trade for WR Brandin Cooks

The New York Giants are reportedly among teams ‘in the mix’ for WR Brandin Cooks.

The New York Giants are reportedly “in the mix” among teams interested in trading for Houston Texans wide receiver Brandin Cooks ahead of Tuesday’s trade deadline.

It’s no secret that the Giants need to add more talent to the wide receiver room, especially with the regime moving on from 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney earlier this season.

The Giants, who are battling at the top of the division, are reportedly among the teams in the mix for Cooks, according to Jordan Schultz of The Score.

Cooks has been one of the most underrated receivers throughout his career when it comes to production. He’s been traded three times throughout his career and has gone over 1,000 yards in six of his last seven seasons.

The Giants have seen some promising play from rookie Wan’Dale Robinson, but it isn’t yet clear when Kenny Golladay will return. Even when he does return, it’s unclear if he can provide the type of boost the offense needs from a top receiver.

A lot can happen between the weekend and Tuesday’s trade deadline so this will be something to monitor in the coming days.
