Steve Sarkisian and his staff will have a chance to impress one of the top defensive lineman in the 2022 recruiting class next week.
According to Mike Roach of Horns247, four-star defensive lineman Quency Wiggins is planning to take a visit to Texas in the near future. He’s rated the No. 6 overall prospect from the state of Louisiana and the No. 15 defensive lineman in the country for the 2022 cycle.
The Baton Rouge native is a two-sport athlete in football and basketball. His 6-foot-6, 274-pound frame is certainly impressive and has caught the attention of dozens of Power Five programs such as Alabama, LSU, Florida and Oregon.
Over the month of June, Wiggins took unofficial visits to Alabama, Florida and LSU. The Longhorns appear to be next in line.

After a dominant offseason, Wiggins moved into the top 100 prospects on 247Sports’ updated rankings.
“Quency Wiggins garnered as much college camp buzz as just about anybody in the first couple of weeks of June. He possesses outstanding size and length with functional athleticism to bend and redirect with relative ease. We expect him to show marked improvement on the field this fall, and if that happens, his rise will continue. He just needs more reps. Wiggins may have one of the highest ceilings in this loaded defensive line class.”
