Report card: Bills lose 24-17 to Ravens

In a classic AFC slugfest, the Ravens came away victorious over the Buffalo Bills at New Era Field to clinch a playoff birth.

Defensive line: B+

There weren’t many, if any, positives from the Buffalo offense, but there were from the defense. The defensive line, and the defense as a whole held Lamar Jackson to just 40 yards on the ground, and 145 passing yards.

Starting with the defensive line they were never fooled by the explosive Mark Ingram-Jackson combination. The group played disciplined football, and tackled well at the line of scrimmage. The group was led by rookie Ed Oliver who had five tackles, followed by Jerry Hughes who had two tackles, and one sack.

The line did an excellent job in filling up rushing lanes and putting quarterback Lamar Jackson under pressure. They may have only registered one sack, they forced the ball out of his hands quickly leading to poor throws.

However, Jackson mustered up just enough good throws to give the Bills a loss. Tough to blame the defense for keeping an opponent who scored 59 points in a single game to only 24 points, though.
