Texas A&M tight end Jalen Wydermyer appears to be on the Buffalo Bills’ radar heading toward the 2022 NFL draft.
According to Pro Football Network, Wydermyer was in Buffalo for a pre-draft visit earlier this month:

Wydermyer is currently expected to be a Day 3 pick at the draft. Still, the Bills are allowed to have up to 30 prospects in Buffalo for pre-draft visits.
No sense in only having top prospects in Orchard Park before the event since the team can’t land all of those prospects. Mixing in potential later selections is important.
At 6-foot-4 and 255 pounds, Wydermyer has an excellent build for the NFL. The A&M prospect displayed an ability as a playmaker in college, notching two very similar, back-to-back seasons the last two years. In each, Wydermyer surpassed 40 catches and 500 yards.
Wydermyer is a late-round project pick for a reason, though. NFL.com admits he is an “athletic” tight end with “smooth separation skills” but his drops and blocking abilities are in question.
Still, if the Bills do take someone like Wydermyer, Buffalo can give him plenty of time to learn the pro game on the bench. Not only did Dawson Knox emerge as a top tight end last season, the Bills signed OJ Howard in free agency. Wydermyer would not be a player expected to join the team and contribute right away.
