Report: Bills had interest in adding RB Adrian Peterson

Report: #Bills had interest in adding RB Adrian Peterson:

The Buffalo Bills rushing attack did not have a good game in their 9-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9.

It seems that the front office might’ve seen that one coming based off of one pre-game report on Sunday.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Bills (5-3) had interest in signing now Tennessee Titans running back Adrian Peterson.

Peterson, 36, signed with the Titans last week.

That came down after All-Pro back Derrick Henry went down with an injury that will keep him out awhile.

Evidently before that was official, Buffalo was one of the couple of teams that reached out to Peterson.

Per the report:

The Ravens were one of five NFL teams that expressed varying levels of interest in Peterson, who led the league in rushing in 2008, 2012 and 2015. The others were the Raiders, Bills, Falcons and Dolphins.

Against the Jags, as referenced, things went bad on the ground. Running backs Devin Singletary and Zack Moss averaged 2.7 and 2.0 yards per carry, respectively.

Would Peterson have made a difference?

In his Titans debut, he only averaged 2.1 yards per carry. However, he did find a way into the end zone for a score.

Buffalo can now only wonder if Peterson would have helped the team’s fortunes in Jacksonville.

However, with the little help Singletary and Moss got from the Bills’ offensive line, it’s unlikely Peterson would have made a difference anyway.
