It was one and done in the preseason for Brandon Shell on the Buffalo Bills.
According to multiple reports including The Athletic, the 31-year-old was not at practice on Tuesday. The reason is reportedly because he is set to retire from the NFL.
Shell signed in Buffalo this offseason. He was battling the likes of David Quessenberry and Tommy Doyle for the swing-tackle job behind starters Spencer Brown and Dion Dawkins.
In the Bills’ 23-19 preseason win against the Indianapolis Colts over the weekend, Shell first appeared in the game with the second-team offense.
In 2022, Pro Football Focus graded Shell a 64.9 overall mark for his efforts when he featured in 13 games for the Miami Dolphins.
In addition to Shell’s retirement, the Bills also lost the likes of Tommy Doyle in the Colts matchup due to a knee injury. However, Doyle’s injury was later downplayed by Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott.
