Former Lady Vols’ basketball player Rennia Davis was waived by the WNBA’s Indiana Fever Wednesday.
Davis signed with Indiana as a free agent July 15, 2022.
She was a first-round draft selection in the 2021 WNBA draft, by Minnesota (No. 9 overall).
Minnesota placed Davis on waivers in May 2021 after she suffered a stress fracture in her foot during training camp.
Davis would return, signing a hardship contract with the team. She played in one game and scored her first professional points in a game against Indiana.
Davis was released from her hardship contract in May 2022.
She played at Tennessee from 2017-21 and was a two-time honorable mention All-American.
Davis was a two-time All-SEC standout and a member of the league’s all-freshman team in 2018
