Reactions as LSU’s bullpen comes up big once again to beat No. 1 Wake Forest

The Tigers survived with their backs against the wall again and now may get Paul Skenes back for a decisive game against the Demon Deacons on Thursday.

The Tigers certainly had a tall task ahead of them on Wednesday night in their rematch against No. 1 Wake Forest with limited pitching options.

But for the second night in a row, LSU’s bullpen came through. Though it was a rough start on the mound for [autotag]Javen Coleman[/autotag], [autotag]Griffin Herring[/autotag] had a breakout performance coming in as a reliever, pitching 4.2 shutout innings with six strikeouts.

A timely three-run homer from [autotag]Cade Beloso[/autotag] in the third inning proved to be the difference as LSU won 5-2 and forced a winner-take-all game against the Demon Deacons for a spot in the College World Series finals against the Florida Gators, which many expect will be an ace-on-ace matchup between [autotag]Paul Skenes[/autotag] and Rhett Lowder.
