Rayjon Tucker has his sights set on entering the NBA Slam Dunk Contest

After recently making his NBA debut with the Jazz, Tucker is hoping to cross another item off of his bucket list.

The campaign to get Utah Jazz guard Rayjon Tucker in the NBA Slam Dunk Contest during All-Star Weekend in Chicago has officially started after an inquiry made by the rookie himself.

Tucker sent off a tweet to Chuck Millan, the owner and founder of Team Flight Brothers, on Friday afternoon for advice on how to enter the annual event set to take place on Saturday, Feb. 15. Millan has worked in the past with several former contestants, including Donovan Mitchell, Victor Oladipo and Aaron Gordon among others.

The Jazz rookie is no stranger to slam dunk contests, either.

Tucker competed in 2015 against Jazz teammate Donovan Mitchell in a national prep contest during their senior year of high school. Tucker got an assist from his mother during that contest and would go on to finish second behind Miami Heat guard Derrick Jones Jr. while Mitchell finished in third place.

Tucker recently signed with the Utah Jazz after spending the beginning of the season in the G League with the Wisconsin Herd. In 16 games in the G League, Tucker averaged 23.8 points per game on 38.6% shooting from 3-point range.

The Jazz signed Tucker to a multi-year contract with the rest of the 2019-20 season guaranteed. Tucker proved to be one of the best players in the G League this season and earned an opportunity to prove himself in the NBA as a result.

The former Little Rock guard recently scored his bucket in the NBA with the Jazz on Monday. After making his NBA debut, Tucker is hoping to cross another item off of his bucket list: Participating in the Slam Dunk Contest.
