Ravens rise up TD Wire’s power rankings after dominant win over Cowboys

The Baltimore Ravens beat the Cowboys 34-17 thanks to a strong rushing attack, giving them a jump up the power rankings entering Week 14

The Baltimore Ravens got the job done against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 13. At times, it wasn’t the prettiest game we’ve seen from Baltimore, but they thoroughly handled their opponent, asserting their wills on the ground to the tune of 294 rushing yards and a 34-17 win.

That was enough to stop the backward slide down the power rankings and instead, gave the Ravens their first jump up since they beat the Indianapolis Colts in Week 9. Baltimore now sits at No. 14 in TD Wire’s power rankings, a bump up of one spot since last week.

Writer Mark Schofield noted that the Ravens are still on the outside looking in when it comes to the AFC playoff picture following this win. At 7-5, Baltimore is a game behind the Colts and Dolphins for one of the final seeds in the AFC. But Schofield also pointed to the Ravens’ soft remaining schedule as a glimmer of hope that Baltimore can finish strong and still squeak in.

On the field, there’s plenty to be excited about. The Ravens have been getting players back from the Reserve/COVID-19 list and injured reserve, seemingly making them more complete with each passing day. And given their performance on the ground the last two weeks — combined 423 rushing yards on 65 carries, for a 6.5 yards-per-carry average — Baltimore might have found enough of their mojo to be a legitimate threat again.

This isn’t exactly the way the Ravens and fans saw this team performing this season but with things heating up in the NFL, Baltimore is actually improving a bit.
