Ravens remain undecided on backup QB situation heading into 53-man roster deadline

Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh says the #Ravens backup quarterback situation will be settled in the coming days via @Thacover2NFL

The Baltimore Ravens have started trimming the roster down to 53 players for the regular season.

Still, there are decisions to be made, and it appears that the choice for the backup quarterback job behind Lamar Jackson is closer than many think.

While addressing the media on Monday, head coach John Harbaugh confirmed that the organization will take the next few days to decide.

Tyler Huntley has missed the past couple of weeks with a hamstring injury, and Josh Johnson has enough experience and talent to assume the role behind Jackson.

Baltimore has given Johnson every opportunity to win the job, and the team is unlikely to keep three players in the position.

Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic is reporting that the team could keep Huntley, and hope that Johnson would go unclaimed on waivers, allowing the opportunity to bring him back on the practice squad.
